Who Are We?
A hat is a flag, a shield, a bit of armor, and the badge of femininity. A hat is the difference between wearing clothes and wearing a costume; it’s the difference between being dressed and being dressed up; it’s the difference between looking adequate and looking your best. A hat is to be stylish in, to glow under, to flirt beneath, to make all others seem jealous over, and to make all men feel masculine about. A piece of magic is a hat."

Gold House Design is an Edmonton, Canada-based brand of made-to-measure and ready-to-wear male, female, and children’s fashion attire. We are also designers and producers of curtains, window dressings, and blinds. Our designs feature curated collections of designs that can be customized to fit your desires for any special event. Created from fine fabrics and luxury trims, all our pieces are handmade by our talented creators and professional dressmaker.
Our collections are inspired by both the modern facets of design and traditional African and Ghanaian techniques that founder/CEO – Giftlove Mensah learned from her Grandaunt and perfected over the years through formal and informal education and training. Giftlove’s journey in fashion design started from a very humble beginning because her Grandma couldn’t afford to further her education. While waiting for a breakthrough in her educational pursuit, she apprenticed with her Grandaunt who was a renowned dressmaker. She fell in love with fashion design afterward and decided to go all the way. From those early teenage years, Giftlove has attended fashion schools and training to postgraduate levels and she is presently working towards setting up a fashion school in Edmonton, Canada.
GHD Skills training was created to assist young and old people who will want to produce these attires and products of Gold House Designs.

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
~ Coco Chanel
“I’m not interested in fashion. I’m interested in the clothes.”
